The building will feature a visitor centre, run by the Helsinki University Museum, which will introduce visitors to space and the history and future of astronomy. It is primarily aimed at children and young people but will be open to all visitors.

The Observatory will be complete with a planetarium and café as well as a lecture theatre, which will be available for venue hire and is suitable for a range of events.
