Foreign Ministry magazines received recognition

Finland’s largest network of media professionals, ProCom – the Finnish Association of Communications Professionals – granted the Best Magazine award in the category Customer, Personnel and Stakeholder Magazines to Kehitys-Utveckling, published by the Minister for Foreign Affairs. In addition, the magazine received an Honourable Mention for the best photo reportage. Kauppapolitiikka magazine in turn took the prize for the best-functioning cover concept.

ProCom – the Finnish Association of Communications Professionals – chose Kehitys-Utveckling the best magazine in the category Customer, Personnel and Stakeholder Magazines. Kehitys-Utveckling is a magazine specialized in global development questions and development cooperation. It is issued four times a year. The magazine is published by the Department for Communications at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

In the opinion of the jury, the magazine is a package full of reading that is also visually attractive.

According to the jury, the magazine’s visuality is on an equal footing with the text in the narrative of the stories. The magazine received special thanks for its photo reportages and for the way it gets close to people in its profiles.

Kauppapolitiikka-magazine received an Honourable Mention from the judges for the best-functioning cover concept. The cover stands out well thanks to its graphic appearance and entices readers to open the magazine.

The magazine has been published by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs for more than 80 years.

The most recent issue, Kauppapolitiikka4/2014, deals with the sale of Finnish foods abroad, spurred by Team Finland’s food industry export programme.

The aim is to double food exports in five years, and at the same time to create 5,000 new jobs.

The reputation of products that are pure and safe boosts the exportation of domestic foods.
