What is meant by “every man’s right” and what does species monitoring involve? You will find the answers to these and other questions by taking part in our nature quiz "Discovering Finland's wild side".
The Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE) and the Finnish Embassy in Paris have worked together to produce this interactive quiz, in which questions about aspects of Finnish nature are used to explain, for example, how nature’s delicate balance can be preserved for future generations.
We are all responsible for preserving biodiversity. Through our own actions, we can support the sustainable development of nature and the environment, but we can also pose a threat to it.
Nature has always played an important part in the life of Finns, and the right to go out and explore nature is a basic right enjoyed by all Finns – we sometimes even refer to ourselves as the people that came out of the forest. Issues and themes around the environment and nature conservation are among the priorities of Finland’s EU presidency in the second half of this year.
