The services of our missions abroad are available to your company. We provide up-to-date market information, facilitate establishing contacts and help in market access issues.
The services provided by the missions are part of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs’ business services. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs is a member of Team Finland, a network of public sector actors providing internationalisation services to Finnish companies.
Market information
Brunei is a wealthy high-income country whose economy is largely based on oil and natural gas exports. Drawing from its significant oil and gas revenue, Brunei offers its citizens comprehensive healthcare, education and other public services. Due to its vulnerability to fluctuations in global energy prices, Brunei is striving to diversify its economy by investing in, among other things, the halal industry, financial services, digital economy and tourism. Despite efforts to attract foreign investment, Brunei's business environment has so far not attracted significant numbers of foreign companies into the country. Trade between Finland and Brunei is limited.

Objectives of the Team Finland network in Malaysia and Brunei
Our goal is to strengthen the commercial and economic relations between Finland and Malaysia and Finland and Brunei, to support Finnish companies seeking entry into the market, and to make Finland and Finnish companies better known in Malaysia and Brunei. Our task is also to increase knowledge and interest in Finland in the rapidly developing markets in Malaysia and Brunei.
Finnish honorary consulates
Honorary consulates complement Finland’s network of missions abroad, which consists of embassies, consulates general, consulates and liaison offices. Honorary consuls are private individuals who carry out consular functions on a part-time basis without remuneration. An honorary consul can advise Finnish companies on how to get information on local business culture and find business partners, among other matters.
