Second round of presidential elections busier abroad than six years ago

Altogether 39,182 Finns visited the advance polling stations abroad to cast their votes in the second round of presidential elections. The number of voters in the first round was 30,876.

The number of voters abroad both in the first and second round of the elections was higher than six years ago when there were 29,438 and 36,783 voters respectively. The numbers do not include votes cast on board ships.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs will deliver all covering envelopes containing all the cast votes to the central elections committees of the respective municipalities by the stipulated deadline, i.e. by 19.00 o’clock on Friday, 27 January.
