EYOF - Olympic flame burns again in Sarajevo

The 2019 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival is taking place in Sarajevo & Istočno Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina from 10 to 15 February 2019.

The Finnish team that is participating in EYOF consists of 49 athletes, making Finland the fourth biggest team in the competition.

EYOF is taking place in Sarajevo and East Sarajevo until 15th of February. The opening ceremony of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) was held on City Stadium Koševo last night, with almost 25 000 people in attendance.

It is the biggest multi-sport event for the young athletes age 14-17, hosting 46 European countries and 1000 athletes, and it provides the young athletes the first taste of an Olympic event.

The Finnish team that is participating in EYOF consists of 49 athletes, making Finland the fourth biggest team in the competition, and they will compete in Alpine Skiing, Biathlon, Cross Country, Figure Skating and Ice Hockey.

Finland will also host the next Winter EYOF, which will take place in 2021 inVuokatti .  This will be the second time Vuokatti, Finland is hosting the Winter EYOF, first time was in 2001.
