Our Ambassador for a Day, Mihaela Lekova
The Embassy of Finland participated in the initiative of the British Embassy in Sofia to give a girl the chance to experience what it is like to be an Ambassador. In honour of the International Women's Day, female Ambassadors in Sofia were replaced by girls for one day.

Bulgarian-Finnish friendship society decided to use a distinctive way to promote the Independence of Finland - by telling the history of the country through the history of its banknotes. A spectacular exhibition reveals images and facts connected to the development of the Finnish paper money.

Finland is celebrating its 100th year of independence
Finland achieved its independence at the end of 1917. This came about partly as a consequence of the First World War and partly because society had gradually matured to the idea of seeking independence in the aftermath of the fall of the monarchy in March 1917.

140 years from the Battle of Gorni Dubnik
The official ceremony on 24 October in Lavrov Park on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the battle of Gorni Dubnik was attended by Deputy Prime -Minister and Minister of Defense of Bulgaria Mr. Krasimir Karakachanov, Brigadier General Jari Kallio and military officers from the Ministry of Defense in Finland, Mr. Tapani Saari, Chairman of the Guilde, Ambassador Päivi Blinnikka, the mayors of Gorni and Dolni Dubnik and many local residents.
