Market information
Belgium’s gross domestic product exceeded €700 billion in 2025, making the country one of the key engines of the European economy. Belgium is also Finland’s eighth-largest export market and offers a stable and predictable operating environment for Finnish expertise—particularly at a time when uncertainties in other markets are becoming more pronounced. There is demand for Finnish know-how especially in the fields of defence, nuclear power, and energy solutions.
Read more about the free Team Finland Market Opportunities online service, which provides information on sales leads, business opportunities and future trends, along with country reviews. New content is added to the service almost daily. Companies need to sign in with a business ID to use the service.

The objectives of the Team Finland network
The aim of the network is to increase the activity of Finnish businesses in Belgium and Luxembourg. In Belgium, this applies in particular to the bioscience, service, information technology, logistics, environmental technology and energy sectors. In Luxembourg, the focus is on biosciences, renewable energy and logistics. Potential growth areas in Luxembourg also include environmental technology and the cleantech sector. The network aims likewise to promote investments in Finland.
The network is geared to actively foreseeing trends and new opportunities benefitting Finnish businesses, and invests in strengthening co-operation in research, development and innovation between the countries. Team Finland reinforces the positive image of Finland in Belgium and Luxembourg, for example, by highlighting actual examples of Finnish success stories. Finnish culture plays a significant role in creating Finland’s image, and it is used to highlight, for instance, the equality and solution orientation of Finnish society.

Honorary consuls are private individuals who carry out consular functions on a part-time basis without remuneration.
