International Red Cross Committee President Jakob Kellenberger visits Finland

President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Jakob Kellenberger, will visit Finland on 2-3 May at the invitation of the Finnish Red Cross. Kellenberger will meet President Tarja Halonen, Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen and Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja on Tuesday, 2 May. Their discussions will focus on international humanitarian law and humanitarian assistance as well as relations between the EU and ICRC and the Finnish EU Presidency. Kellenberger will also address the Paasikivi Society on Tuesday, speaking on new challenges facing the humanitarian assistance.

Jakob Kellenberger's visit to Finland is his second as ICRC President.
