Responsibilities of mission
The mission of the Embassy in Beirut is to develop and maintain the relations between Finland and Lebanon in the fields of politics, trade, development cooperation and humanitarian aid, crisis management and culture. Finland's participation in UNIFIL has a long tradition.
In addition, the Embassy is tasked with:
- develop interaction between people
- promote Finland's interests in Lebanon and represent Finnish society
- disseminate information about Finland to Lebanese people interested in our country as well as information about Lebanon to Finns
- consular and immigration services
The Embassy also covers Jordan and Syria, where the Embassy has the same duties as in Lebanon but no permanent presence.
