Janna Laine appointed as Counsellor for Public Diplomacy and Communications to Beijing

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs has appointed Janna Laine as Counsellor for Public Diplomacy and Communications to Beijing from 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2027.

Laine currently serves as a sinologist at the Finnish Embassy in Beijing. Prior to this, she worked in communications and export promotion at the Finnish Chamber of Commerce in Beijing and at Business Finland.

Laine holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Helsinki with a major in East Asia studies. As part of her studies, she went on an exchange programme to the University of Beijing and to Beijing Foreign Studies University.

Counsellor for Public Diplomacy and Communications to Beijing works in close cooperation with the Consulates General of Finland in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
