H.E. Mr Jouni Laaksonen officially takes up his post as Ambassador of Finland to the Czech Republic

Ambassador Jouni Laaksonen presented his credentials to President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel at Prague Castle on 29 September 2026. With this ceremonial act, he officially took up his post as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland to the Czech Republic.

The ceremony at Prague Castle completed the formal process of Jouni Laaksonen assuming his post. In his new role, he will represent Finland in the Czech Republic and contribute to the further development of Finnish-Czech relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The presentation of credentials is a traditional part of diplomatic protocol and formally marks the beginning of a new ambassador’s tenure in the host country. The credentials confirm the ambassador’s mandate to represent their country and are addressed to the head of state of the host country.
