Finnish stand at the European Day of Languages 2018
In 2018 the European Day of Languages will be held at the National Museum "Earth and People" on 26 September. Traditionally, the Embassy of Finland will participate with a stand and will provide information materials, games with prizes and possibility to learn some Finnish words and phrases.

Nordic Cinema Week 2018 to start with the Finnish film Tom of Finland
The Nordic Cinema Week (24 – 30 September 2018 at the Cinema House in Sofia) will start with the Finnish film Tom of Finland (2017). Award-winning filmmaker Dome Karukoski brings to screen the life and work of one of the most influential and celebrated figures of twentieth century gay culture.

Young Brazilian wins trip to Finland in Capital of Metal contest
Checking his email in early June 2018, a Brazilian student named João Vieira couldn’t believe his eyes: He’d won the Capital of Metal contest. He and a friend would go to Finland to attend the Tuska Open Air heavy metal festival in Helsinki.

100-year anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Finland and Bulgaria
This year marks the 100-year anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Finland and Bulgaria. Bulgaria recognized the independence of Finland 27.2.1918 and diplomatic relations were opened 5.8.1918. The 100th anniversary will be celebrated in the fall, so follow our webpage and Facebook for more information about the upcoming events.
