Finland to Support UNODC Piracy Prisoner Transfer Programme
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland has granted Euro 190 000 for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Piracy Prisoner Transfer Programme (PPTP). The main aim of the programme is to construct a new prison in Garowe, Puntland. The 500 bed prison will be mainly used for housing convicted Somali pirates.

Dzikwa Trust built an ICT building for orphans in Dzivarasekwa
On Monday 2nd May 2011, Dzikwa Trust Fund opened its new ICT Block for orphaned children in Dzivarasekwa. The Ambassador of Finland to Zimbabwe, Mrs. Sinikka Antila opened the new facility, together with Managing Director of Old Mutual Zimbabwe, Mr. Jonas Mushosho and District Education Supervisor, Mr. K.J. Kagoro, in a festive ceremony held at the Dzikwa Activity Centre premises, #3147 Rujeko Street.

OECD: Finland’s development aid increasing
International development aid has increased 6,5% between 2009 and 2010, according to a report released by the OECD in the beginning of April. Finnish development aid increased 8,8% between 2009 and 2010, reaching over a EUR 1 billion, which equals to 0,55% of the gross national income (GNI).
