New Counsellors at the Embassy
The beginning of the spring at the Embassy of Finland in Pretoria has been busy as three new staff members started as counsellors. The positions of the education and science counsellor and the agricultural counsellor are completely new, which reflects the increased importance and potential of Africa for Finland.

Team Finland Knowledge network expanded to four new countries
In September, the Team Finland Knowledge network consisting of specialists in the field of higher education and research expanded to four new countries. The new Senior Specialists began their work at the Finnish embassies in the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, India and Russia. In addition, a new Ambassador for Education Exports Marjaana Sall started working at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in September.

Clothing Bank creates self-employed businesswomen
The Clothing Bank does important work from an environmental, social and economic point of view. Clothing waste is a big problem, but the Clothing Bank saw an opportunity in it. They use stocks donated by the retailers to teach women how to run small businesses. Embassy of Finland is proud to be part of the project.

Be active, learn and make an impact!
ENKE – Make Your Mark is a leadership development organisation, which trains and supports South African youth on how to turn their knowledge into positive action. The Embassy of Finland in Pretoria has funded the leadership development programs (the Trailblazer Programme and the Catalyst Programme) through its Fund for Local Cooperation.
