Are you planning to go to Finland for seasonal work this Summer?
Visa liberalization for Kosovo started on 1.1.2024. If you are a holder of a Kosovo passport and you have seasonal work for maximum of 90 days, you need a seasonal work certificate. If you will work in Finland for 3 to 9 months, you need a residence permit for seasonal work. Seasonal work refers to work in agriculture and tourism that is tied to a certain time of the year. The maximum duration of seasonal work is nine months within a 12-month period.
Advance voting abroad in Finland’s presidential elections for a second round in 2024
The election day for a second election (second round) will be 11 February 2024. In Kosovo, advance voting will be organized at the Embassy of Finland in Pristina in the second round, from 31 January to 2 February 2024.
Finland participates in developing interoperability within border and visa policies to detect multiple identities
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs’ project on interoperability (the UMPIO project) coordinates the data related to internal security, border security and migration management in the EU information systems for security. The project is part of the development of entry systems funded by the EU.
Finland to increase financial requirement for Schengen visas to EUR 50 per day of stay and introduce proof of sponsorship form concerning visa applicants
As of 1 January 2024, Finland will increase travellers' daily financial requirement to EUR 50 per day of stay. Finland will simultaneously introduce a proof of sponsorship and/or accommodation form, which will allow visa applicants to finance their visit using the funds of the inviting party.
Visa liberalization for Kosovo from 01.01.2024 – instructions for travelers
Read the instructions for travelling carefully. The entry to Finland and to the Schengen-area is always decided by the border control. Visa free travel enables you to travel without visa for short stays up to 90 days in any 180 day period. If you plan to stay in the area longer, find out if you need to apply for a residence permit beforehand. If you plan to work in Finland, you need to apply for a residence permit for work beforehand.
