Signature authentication at Finnish missions

The signature of a private Finnish citizen or foreign citizen residing permanently in Finland can be authenticated at the local Finnish mission if the concerned person is known or proves their identity appropriately.

If the concerned person does not sign their name at the mission (for instance if they have already signed a document before coming to the mission), they must personally confirm that the signature is their own.

Attestation of signature in the United States

The signature may be authenticated by a Notary Public.

If the party requesting the authentication demands that it is attested by a Finnish diplomatic mission, you must apply for it personally at the Mission or at the Honorary Consulate.

Attestation of signature is a notarial service subject to a fee in accordance with the (Opens New Window)service price list. In order to obtain the attestation, you must book an appointment at the Mission or at the Honorary Consulate.
