President Niinistö Attended Nuclear Security Summit in Washington
The President of the Republic of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, attended the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, D.C. from March 31 to April 1. The summit was hosted by President Barack Obama, and was attended by world leaders from 53 nations and four international organizations (UN, EU, IAEA and Interpol). Finland has been a strong contributor to the nuclear security process since the very beginning.

The Finnish commitment to nuclear security is highlighted by President Sauli Niinistö leading the Finnish delegation to the Nuclear Security Summit organized in Washington, D.C. on March 31 – April 1. The Summit aims to improve nuclear security and prevent nuclear terrorism around the globe. Over 50 countries and four international organizations (UN, EU, IAEA and Interpol) will attend the fourth and final Nuclear Security Summit.
