Michigan-Finland Forest Bioproduct Summit – Start of New Cooperation
Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is one of the most forested regions in the United States, but forestry in U.P. is mostly of the traditional kind. In October, eight representatives from Finland arrived in Houghton County to take part in the Michigan-Finland Forest Bioproduct Summit to share with many local organizations their know-how regarding bioproducts.

Opening Celebration of Finland’s New Office Premises in New York
Consulate General of Finland and the Permanent Mission of Finland to the UN hosted a celebration for their new office premises on Wednesday, September 26th 2018. In addition to the employees, dignitaries and representatives from companies and associations joined the celebration.

Naselle Finnish American Folk Festival A Hit!
The Finnish American Folk Festival held in July 27th – 29th brought in over 1700 visitors to a little town in Washington state. "The Finn festival committee members are calling this one of our best! Visitors enjoyed the culture, the music, the food, the folk dancing and even learned some Finnish words along the way, writes one of the festival organizers," Barb Swanson.
