Consulate General of Finland in Los Angeles will bring the portable passport and identity card device to San Diego (CA), on March 15, 2025.
The Consulate also offers appointments to submit:
- notifications to the Digital and Population Data Agency (such as birth, marriage, divorce US citizenship as well as other corrections/addition)
- Finnish citizenship declarations for former Finnish citizens (Link to another website.)
- Finnish citizenship determinations(Link to another website.)
Appointments are made through our appointment service system(Link to another website.). The automatic appointment confirmation email will contain the detailed instructions as well as location information.
NB: Update 11.2.2025: Passport and ID card appointment slots are fully booked; however, appointments for other consular matters are still available. Any cancellations will be displayed in the appointment booking system, where they can be checked.
Passport and identity card applications can only be processed if the applicant’s personal information in the Finnish Population Information System is accurate and up-to-date (e.g., a name change due to marriage or the birth of the child must be registered to the Finnish population registry before applying for passport or identity card). According to the Population Information Act (661/2009), the applicant shall ensure that the personal information is correct. Personal data can be checked from Digital and Population Data Services Agency(Link to another website.) once a year free of charge.
