#FINUS100 Campaign  100 Years of Finland - U.S. Diplomatic Relations

A rousing new social media campaign highlighting the centennial of Finland - U.S. diplomatic relations is underway! Every weekday the Embassy of Finland in DC and the U.S. Embassy Finland post photos online that commemorate the 100 year journey of upholding US and Finnish relations.

The Finland - U.S. centennial social media campaign explores shared moments in our nations’ histories that include political encounters as well as important cultural exchanges. Who could forget the Reagans visiting Helsinki in 1988, or how Paavo Nurmi (a.k.a. the Flying Finn) made his breakthrough in the US media way back in 1925? Other highlights include the architecture of Eero Saarinen in the U.S. and the lighthearted holiday cards of Ambassador Bruce Oreck.

The aim of the campaign is to celebrate the rich and abiding connection between our two nations. Strolling together through memory lane will pave the way for the next 100 years of strong US-Finland diplomatic ties.

The campaign culminates in a travelling photo exhibit that will tour both countries. Locations will be announced at a later date.
