Limited reception of residence permit applications to resume in Finnish missions abroad

Due to the coronavirus epidemic, Finland suspended the reception of ordinary visa and residence permit applications starting on 19 March 2020. The reception of ordinary visa applications continues to be suspended but activities relating to residence permit applications were gradually resumed in the missions on 16 June 2020.

The situation and operating environments vary to a great extent in our missions in different parts of the world. Taking into account the current situation in the COVID-19 pandemic, some of our missions can serve residence permit customers fairly comprehensively starting on 16 June 2020, some can do so on a limited basis, and some missions can start to receive and process residence permit applications only later.  Applicants, who wish to identify themselves for or to submit a residence permit application, need to make an appointment and contact the service number of the mission.

Priority will be given to customers who have booked an appointment but whose appointment had to be cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The end of the exceptional arrangements will be informed later.
