Finnish consular services in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to be handled by the Finnish Embassy in Lusaka from 1 March 2020

Finland's Embassy in Lusaka, Zambia, will be responsible for all consular matters relating to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DCR), including consular assistance and crises, reception of residence permits, and legalisation of documents.

Before that, consular matters were handled by the Finnish Embassy in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

In visa matters, Finland will be represented in the DCR by Belgium. 

On 18 October 2019, the President of the Republic authorised Ambassador Pirjo Suomela-Chowdhury, Head of the Finnish Embassy in Lusaka, Zambia, to represent Finland in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Following the authorisation by the President, Finland's relations with the Democratic Republic of the Congo are handled by the Embassy in Lusaka.
