Foreign Minister Valtonen to visit Latvia and attend meeting of heads of Latvia’s diplomatic missions

Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen will visit Latvia on 28 January. She will speak at the meeting of the heads of Latvia’s diplomatic missions and meet Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Baiba Braže.

The foreign ministers will discuss bilateral relations between Finland and Latvia and topical foreign and security policy issues, such as Ukraine and the security of the Baltic Sea region.  

“Finland and Latvia have very close relations and share the same values. We have ongoing discussions both bilaterally and in the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) group. I am excited to have been invited to the meeting of the heads of Latvia’s diplomatic missions,” says Foreign Minister Valtonen.
