Second Edition of Nordic Film Days in Istanbul

The second edition of Nordic Film Days was held on 5–7 March 2026 at the historical IBB Beyoğlu Sineması.

The second edition of Nordic Film Days was held by The Embassy of Finland in Ankara, the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Ankara, the Royal Danish Consulate General in Istanbul, the Honorary Consul of Iceland, and the Consulate General of Sweden in Istanbul, in collaboration with the İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality. The event took place on 5–7 March 2026 at the historical IBB Beyoğlu Sineması, one of Istiklal Street’s most iconic cultural venues.

As part of Beyoğlu Sineması’s long running and widely appreciated Country Cinema program, the Nordic Film Days once again brought five remarkable films from the Nordic countries to Istanbul audiences free of charge. The film selection highlighted the depth, diversity, and artistic vision of Nordic cinema, inviting viewers to explore the region’s cultural perspectives and storytelling traditions.

The Embassy of Finland made the screening with the Finnish film Je’vida, which explores Sámi identity, memory, and the emotional landscapes of the far north. Je’vida is the first feature-length film entirely in Skolt-Sámi.

Nordic Film Days offers the Istanbul audience a chance to immerse themselves in the innovative and thought‑provoking world of Nordic cinema while celebrating the cultural connections between Türkiye and the Nordic countries.
