On February 10th, an important milestone in Finnish-Turkish relations was marked with the official opening of the Honorary Consulate of Finland in Bursa. This significant occasion was celebrated with the presence of a delegation from the Embassy of Finland, who traveled to Bursa to commemorate the event and engage in official visits.

The newly appointed Honorary Consul, Ms. Pınar Taşdelen Engin, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her new role. She will serve as a vital link between Finland and the region, further strengthening the economic, cultural, and diplomatic ties between our nations. Her commitment to fostering
collaboration and friendship is sure to enhance the connections Finland shares with Turkey with a focus on Bursa.

Bursa, a city known for its rich history, industrial strength, and cultural heritage, has long been a sister city with Oulu in Finland which also happens to be known as an industrial city. The establishment of the Honorary Consulate in this dynamic city reflects the growing cooperation between the two countries in various sectors, including trade, investment, and education. Finland and Turkey share a deep appreciation for innovation and sustainable development, and Bursa’s industrious spirit makes it an ideal location for expanding bilateral initiatives.

The Embassy of Finland extends its warmest congratulations to Honorary Consul Pınar Taşdelen Engin and expresses its gratitude to all who made this event possible. We look forward to deepening our collaboration and to many years of fruitful partnership between the two countries.
