Where to apply for a visa

Due to the COVID-19 –situation there are still restrictions in entry permit processing and entering Finland.

Persons, who have received a complete vaccination series may be granted entry into Finland from any country. Check THL:s webpages for a list of covid-19 vaccines accepted in Finland, as well as what kind of vaccination certificate is needed.

A person who has not received a complete covid-19 vaccination series must have one of the reasons mentioned at the website of Finnish Border Guard for entering Finland. The gravity of the reasons are always evaluated case by case during border controls carried out by the Finnish Border Guard. A valid visa is not a guarantee entering Finland, the decision about entry is always carried out by the Border Guard.

The Embassy of Finland receives and processes visa applications according to the same principle as mentioned above. Only groups designated by the Finnish Border Guard may submit a visa application if they do not have a complete and approved vaccination series.

It is the applicant’s own responsibility to check the current entry requirements and restrictions from the Finnish Border Guard website as well as the health requirements (incl. vaccine series approved in Finland) from the THL website and the possible test and quarantine requirements.
