Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Skinnari attends OECD Ministerial Council Meeting on sustainable path to recovery

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) will hold its Ministerial Council Meeting (MCM) on 28–29 October in virtual format. Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Skinnari and State Secretary to the Minister of Economic Affairs Kimmo Tiilikainen will represent Finland at the meeting.

The main theme of discussion at the MCM will be socially and ecologically sustainable recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Minister Skinnari will participate in the discussion on the priorities that governments should consider in their recovery plans and international cooperation initiatives for recovery. “Even in the current global economic circumstances, it is important to adhere to open and rules-based trade and to identify the opportunities for green growth, which is supported also by digitalisation. The OECD is an important source of information and a platform for international cooperation for us,” Minister Skinnari says. State Secretary Tiilikainen will participate in the discussions on the role of trade and investments in the path to recovery.
