Nordic Film Festival in Singapore 2019
The first ever Nordic Film Festival in Singapore will be organized from 06 to 15 September, 2019!
The Embassy of Finland together with our Nordic neighbors the Embassy of Denmark in Singapore, the Embassy of Sweden in Singapore and the Norwegian Embassy in Singapore are inviting you all to come to see these Nordic movies. The festival will show two films of each country and introduce Nordic film industry by showcasing the true spirit of the Nordics with stories of suspense, laughter, history and modern life through film.Watch the trailer of the festival here.

In this offbeat comedy from Finland, Turo is stuck in a small village where the best thing in his life is being the lead vocalist for the amateur metal band Impaled Rektum. The only problem? He and his bandmates have practiced for 12 years without playing a single gig. The guys get a surprise visitor from Norway--the promoter for a huge heavy metal music festival--and decide it’s now or never. They steal a van, a corpse, and even a new drummer and embark on an adventure of Spinal Tap proportions.

An octogenarian farmer - The Grump - wants to die, because all the work is done; the meaning of life is gone. But just as his own coffin is being finished, his 17 year-old grandchild Sofia suddenly appears - she is in trouble and needs the stubbornness and wisdom of her grandfather and the warmth of the fireplace. Rejuvenated by her unexpected appearance and with a new meaning of life thrust upon him, the stubborn old man and the young city girl begin their adventure - and a descent into the unravelling secret of her surprising arrival.
