Unescon kasvatussektori saa uuden johtajan, kun tri Nicholas Burnett aloittaa työnsä 27. syyskuuta. Burnettilla on vahva ja kansainvälinen tuntuma sektoriin.

OECD has published its annual data set on education. Education at a Glance 2007 tells that the Finns are well educated.

Kauppapolitiikkaan liittyvä työ on OECD:n perustamisesta (vuodesta 1961) lähtien ollut yksi järjestön toiminnan ydintoiminnoista.  OECD:n kauppatyö tapahtuu erityisessä kauppakomiteassa ja sen alaisuudessa toimivassa tiheämmin kokoontuvassa kauppatyöryhmässä. Suomi on tällä hetkellä ainoana eurooppalaisena maana edustettuna kauppatyöryhmän puheenjohtajistossa.  

OECD's Centre for Educational Research and Innovation, CERI, has published recently four reports based on its projects. The reports are very timely and are at the same time good examples of CERI's extensive and forward-looking work.

The recent "2006 Survey on Monitoring the Paris Declaration" by the OECD Development Assistance Committee DAC suggests that there is still a long way to go in order to reach the goals set for effective development assistance.

The OECD International Migration Outlook 2007 has been published. Much of the migration takes place within and between OECD member countries. However, the flows from India and China are considerable and expanding.

The OECD Employment Outlook 2007 was published on the 19th June. This year the Outlook has taken globalisation as the special theme to be analysed. According to the publication the overall impact of the globaliation has been positive. However, in many cases it has reduced the power of workers, especially low-skilled ones.
