OECD launches accession talks with five candidate countries
OECD launches formally accession talks with Chile, Estonia, Israel, Russia and Slovenia. The talks will be based on so-called "roadmaps" approved by OECD's Council. New members will have to fulfil the criteria of OECD acquis, which includes rule of law, human rights, good governance and market economy principle among other things. OECD's committees will examine candidate countries in their field.
