Review of the Tertiary Education System in Finland - country note available

OECD has reviewed the Finnish tertiary education system as part of the wider Tertiary Education Review- project. The review team concludes that the Finnish system is of relatively high quality. They also conclude that the parallel system of universities and polytechnics should be maintained. The team has found a few aspects of development in the management of tertiary education institutions. They also encourage the institutions for more and improved cooperation and collaboration.

As for financing and funding the tertiary education sector the team advises Finland to consider student fees instead of current subsidy-based system.
