The bilateral country consultations between Nepal and Finland took place in Kathmandu

The bilateral country consultations between the Government of Nepal (GoN) and the Republic of Finland (GoF) were held in Kathmandu on 19 February 2019. The representative of Nepal was Shreekrishna Nepal, Joint Secretary, International Economic Cooperation Coordination Division, Ministry of Finance and on the Finnish side Kimmo Lähdevirta, Director General, Department for the America and Asia, Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

The consultation meeting reviewed the currents state of bilateral development cooperation interventions and discussed and agreeed on the focus for future cooperation between the two countries. Nepal and Finland have held these high-level consultations regularly since 2000. In this consultation meeting both countries valued very much the relations between the two countries and agreed to mutually work  in diversifying bilateral relations beyond traditional development aid in the coming years.
