Screen City Biennial (SCB) warmly invites you to the opening weekend of its upcoming edition Ecologies - lost, found and continued. With this theme, the biennial sets out to present, facilitate and examine art and artistic inquiry that raises questions of how human action affects the ecologies with which it is implicated. It engages in a post-anthropocentric worldview searching for ecologies ‘lost’ to the dominant imaginary of the modern, rationalized Western society yet blooming on the periphery.

SCB will use Stavanger harbor’s architectonic positioning in the Nordic landscape to present a broad range of international artists working in the fields of moving image and expanded video and film, augmented and virtual reality, audiovisual, performance and installations.

During the weekend of October 17-20, SCB will present six newly commissioned works in collaboration with local institutions among them Stavanger Concert Hall, Stavanger Art Museum, the local ferry terminal, the Cathedral, Sola Airport m.m. You will find interventions and interactive installations along the city's harbor, sound performances onboard a ferry to the fjord, and a program of lectures, VR and screenings on the old gem, MS Sandnes boat.
