Pertti Torstila, Secretary of State of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, spoke at the Nigeria-Finland Business Forum at Hilton Hotel Strand, Helsinki, on Thursday May 14, 2009.

Vice President of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan will visit Finland on 14-15 May. Vice President Jonathan will be accompanied by ministers and governors representing various states of Nigeria, and an extensive business delegation.

Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb will participate in the Nordic–African Foreign Ministers Meeting, to take place in Helsingør, Denmark on 11–12 March. This informal forum of dialogue has been convened since 2001, the site alternating between the Nordic countries and Africa. At the meeting, the foreign ministers of the Nordic countries and ten African countries exchange ideas on topical issues.

New Ambassadors: Anneli Vuorinen to Nigeria and Timo Lahelma to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.
