Foreign Minister Tuomioja to the OSCE ministerial meeting in Vienna

Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja will participate in the ministerial meeting of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna on Monday and Tuesday, 27-28 November 2000.

The President of the Yugoslav Federal Republic Vojislav Kostunica is scheduled to sign the CSCE Helsinki Final Act 1975, the Paris Charter 1990 and the Istanbul Charter for Security 1999. Situations in Chechnya, Georgia and Moldova and the implementation of the related commitments will also be on the agenda of the meeting. The annual presidency of the OSCE will rotate from Austria to Romania.

Foreign Minister Tuomioja will also address the seminar on small arms and light weapons which will be organised in connection with the OSCE meeting. Mr Tuomioja will also have bilateral meetings with the foreign ministers of Turkey, Czech Republic, Lithuania and Switzerland, among others.
