Minister for Nordic Cooperation Anne Berner will represent Finland at the Africa-Nordic Meeting of Foreign Ministers to be held in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, on 10 June. The meeting will be hosted by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria Geoffrey Onyeama.

Development Policy Committee calls for transparency in the allocation and use of financial investments

The OECD Ministerial Council Meeting (MCM) will be held in Paris on 7–8 June 2017. Finland's representative at the meeting will be Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Kai Mykkänen. The meeting will be chaired by Denmark.

The ArcticFinland.fi website is now presenting Finland as an Arctic country also in English. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Arctic Centre at the University of Lapland have signed an agreement to develop the site maintained and updated by the Arctic Centre as an Arctic gateway for international audience.

Finland’s candidate, Ambassador Jari Luoto, was elected to a lead position in the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism (GICNT) at its Plenary Meeting in Tokyo on 2 June. Luoto will work as the policy coordinator of the initiative for the next two years.

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Kai Mykkänen and Minister for Housing, Energy and the Environment Kimmo Tiilikainen will participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), organized on 1–3 June 2017. The Forum brings together business and economic policy leaders from different countries. Among the speakers are the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini will visit Estonia on Friday 2 June and hold bilateral discussions with Estonia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sven Mikser in Tallinn.

Foreign Minister Timo Soini will participate in a joint meeting of the NB8 and the V4 Group, bringing together Nordic and Baltic foreign ministers as well as the foreign ministers of the Visegrád Group in Sopote, Poland, on 30 May.
