14 June 2016
New Zealand's Minister of Foreign Affairs Murray McCully will visit Finland on 15–16 June. He will meet Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini on Wednesday 15 June. The subjects of discussion during the visit include the countries' bilateral relations, EU- and UN-related matters, and economic questions, a central one of which will be New Zealand's Small Advanced Economies Initiative.
Foreign Minister McCully will travel to Finland from Norway after participating in the Oslo Forum on mediation and conflict resolution. From Helsinki, Minister McCully will travel to Riga and Vilnius on 16–17 June.
Ministers Soini and McCully met last in March 2016 during Minister Soini's visit to Australia and New Zealand. The relations between Finland and New Zealand are excellent, and an active exchange of visits contributes to enhanced relations with an important partner country in many international questions.
