Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Police at the Travel Fair 2016

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs(Link to another website.) and the Finnish Police(Link to another website.) will have a joint stand at the Travel Fair 2016,(Link to another website.) (Opens New Window) organised at the Expo and Convention Centre in Helsinki on 21–24 January 2016. Stand number 6e149 will present services for travellers provided by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Police, and remind them about four important travel matters:
- travel advice
- travel notification
- travel insurance and
- travel documents.
At the fair, the Foreign Ministry will release its new Web consul(Link to another website.) (Opens New Window) service. Web consul can be found on Facebook. It responds to people's questions about travel safety and provides advice for travellers in problem situations. Specialists from the Foreign Ministry can also be consulted at the stand. Visitors who are willing to learn about other travellers' stories or who want to share their own experiences can do so at the Maailma yllättää (the world surprises)(Link to another website.) map service.
The Police will remind people that a passport application may now be submitted online. Police officers will be present at the Fair and there will also be a policeman dressed as a lion to entertain child visitors. Visitors are invited to take part in brainstorming ideas for new passport images at the Fair.
At the Sonera Inspiration Stage on Friday 21 January at 15.00, there will be a panel discussion organised by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Madventures. The panel discussion will be hosted by journalist Kari Lumikero. Panellists, including Riku Rantala and Tunna Milonoff, will participate in the discussion online from various parts of the world.
