The Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union will meet in Brussels on 9 February
The Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union will meet in Brussels on 9 February. Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja will represent Finland at the meeting.
The meeting agenda includes Libya, Yemen, Syria and Iraq, the fight against terrorism, as well as topical issues about Africa. The situation in Ukraine will also be discussed.

Visit to Morocco on 9–11 February
Foreign Minister Tuomioja will have bilateral talks with Moroccan Foreign Minister Salaheddine Mezouar in Rabat. The topics for discussion include, among others, international issues, the situation in North Africa and areas of cooperation between our countries. In connection with their meeting, the Foreign Ministers will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on regular political consultations.
The Foreign Minister will also meet with Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkikrane, Taieb Fassi Fihri , advisor to the King, and the Presidents of Morocco’s bicameral Parliament, Rachid Talbi Alami and Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah. Foreign Minister Tuomioja and Driss El Yazami, Chairman of the National Human Rights Council of Morocco, will discuss the evolution of the human rights situation in Morocco and social reforms.
Regular high-level discussions in both the political sector and the economic sector have recently been held between Finland and Morocco.
