Foreign Minister Tuomioja to attend the OSCE Ministerial Council in Basel

Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja will take part in the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, to be held in Basel on 4–5 December. The discussions will focus on the situation in Ukraine and its impacts.

The intention is that the meeting will adopt a number of draft resolutions pertaining to politico-military, economic and environmental issues as well as human rights questions.

Minister Tuomioja will attend the informal dinner hosted by Switzerland, holder of the OSCE Chairmanship, on 3 December, where the situation in Ukraine will be discussed. While in Basel, Minister Tuomioja will also have bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of OSCE participating States.
