Foreign Minister Stubb to meet the Secretary General of NATO in Brussels

Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb will meet Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Brussels on Tuesday, 15 September. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss topical NATO affairs, such as the ISAF crisis management mission in Afghanistan and reform of NATO’s strategic concept.

The Foreign Minister will also attend the EU–Central Asian Meeting of Foreign Ministers that will take place also on 15 September. With a view to deepening dialogue between the EU and Central Asia, the ministerial meeting is a continuation of the EU-Central Asia Ministerial Forum on security issues held in Paris last year. Minister Stubb will take part in the discussion on regional security issues, including the role of Central Asian countries in stabilisation and reconstruction of Afghanistan.
