Foreign Minister Kanerva to meet with Foreign Minister Bezhuashvili of Georgia

Foreign Minister Ilkka Kanerva will meet with Gela Bezhuashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, on Thursday, 11 October.
The Georgian Foreign Minister will travel to Finland together with President Mikheil Saakashvili, who will make an official visit to Finland on 10–12 October. President Saakashvili’s agenda includes, among others, a meeting with Tarja Halonen, President of the Republic of Finland.
In their bilateral meeting, Foreign Minister Kanerva and Foreign Minister Bezhuashvili will discuss, for instance, topical OSCE issues and Finland’s chairmanship year of the OSCE in 2008.
The ministers will also address regional issues, such as the conflicts in Southern Ossetia and Abkhazia, the situation in Northern Caucasus, Georgia’s relations with neighbouring countries and Black Sea regional cooperation.
