Foreign Minister Kanerva established a trans-Atlantic network

Under the leadership of Foreign Minister Ilkka Kanerva, a trans-Atlantic network was established on Monday, 4 February. Experts in relations between Finland and the United States, from different sectors of society, will be invited to attend meetings of the network. Included are political leaders and representatives of administration, business and industry, research institutes and the media.

The new trans-Atlantic network offers the opportunity to assess the importance of the United States from the Finnish perspective and to exchange views on further development of Finnish–American relations. The idea is that the trans-Atlantic network will meet two or three times a year.
