Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb to visit Moldova and Ukraine

Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb will make an official visit to Moldova on Monday, 19 April and to Ukraine on Tuesday, 20 April.
Minister Stubb will visit Moldova at the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iurie Leanca. His agenda also includes a meeting with Acting President, Speaker of Parliament Mihai Ghimpu and Prime Minister Vlad Filat.
During his visit to Ukraine, Foreign Minister Stubb will meet with the country’s new political leadership, including President Viktor Yanukovych, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, Foreign Minister Kostyantyn Gryshchenko and Speaker of Parliament Volodymyr Lytvyn. Also on his agenda is a meeting with representatives of Finnish companies operating in Ukraine.
The intention is to discuss development of the European Union’s relations with its Eastern neighbours, the EU’s Eastern Partnership, the situation with regard to internal politics and prospects for development in the two countries, as well as bilateral relations between Finland and Moldova and between Finland and Ukraine.
Realization of the trip depends on developments concerning flight restrictions.
