Legal cooperation related to action against terrorism to be discussed in a workshop in Helsinki organised by OSCE and UN

Finland will host a regional workshop to be organised in Helsinki on 30-31 October about regional cooperation in criminal matters related to action against terrorism. The workshop will be organised in collaboration with the OSCE’s Action against Terrorism Unit, and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, UNODC.
The workshop will examine particularly questions related to extradition of crime suspects and legal assistance in criminal cases from the perspective of international obligations. The workshop will be attended by prosecutors, judges and other people working with criminal cooperation affairs besides from Finland, also from other Nordic and Baltic Countries.
The workshop organised in Helsinki is part of the OSCE and UN counter-terrorism cooperation. It aims at increasing the national anti-terrorism capabilities of the participating countries and making the international expert cooperation in the neighbouring areas of Finland more efficient.
