Finland accepts a Kosovo passport as an official travel document
Press release 402/2008
23 October, 2008
Finland now accepts ordinary passports, as well as official and diplomatic passports, granted by Kosovo as official travel documents for trips to Finland. Persons travelling on a Kosovo passport are still under obligation to have a visa for entry to Finland and the Schengen area, but citizens of Kosovo can apply for a visa on the basis of travel documents granted by Kosovo, and they can also be granted other entry permits, such as residence permits.
About half of the EU Member States, including the Netherlands, Latvia, Denmark, Hungary and France as well as Norway already accept Kosovo travel documents, while in other Member States the approval process is still in progress.
