Poland’s Foreign Minister to visit Helsinki

Minister for Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto will meet Poland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau in Helsinki on 1 July.

The Ministers will discuss, among other things, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the European security situation and Poland’s OSCE Chairmanship.

“Poland is an important EU country and an important partner for Finland. Poland has a common border with Ukraine, which is it has been specifically affected by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. I am very pleased to have this opportunity to discuss with my Polish counterpart in Helsinki and to exchange views of current affairs,” says Minister for Foreign Affairs Haavisto.

During his visit, Foreign Minister Rau will also meet the president of the republic Sauli Niinistö and Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering Tytti Tuppurainen.
