Niko Nurminen to the post of press secretaryin St Petersburg

Niko Nurminen (M.Soc.Sci., M.A. in Specialized Journalism) has been appointed to a fixed-term post as press secretary at the Consulate General of Finland in St Petersburg. Nurminen (38) will begin in St. Petersburg on 11 October. Before that, he will familiarize himself with the activities of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Helsinki.

Nurminen transfers to his new post from the Channel Four News, where he was responsible for the foreign news service. Nurminen has also worked as a journalist for the Ilta-Sanomat newspaper, the Finnish Broadcasting Company and MTV3. He has studied at the University of Helsinki, at Moscow State University, and at the University of Southern California.
