Minister Väyrynen to make an export promotion trip to Petrozavodsk and Sortavala

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paavo Väyrynen will go on an export promotion trip to Petrozavodsk and Sortavala on 19–20 April. The minister will be accompanied by more than 20 representatives of Finnish companies, regions and municipalities.

The aim of the export promotion trip is to further the possibilities of Finnish companies and other actors to carry out cooperation in the Republic of Karelia. The focal areas of the trip are the forest sector, energy and the environment, information and communications technology, the electronics industry, the mechanical engineering industry, mining, infrastructure, logistics and business in services. Neighbouring area cooperation will also be discussed during the trip.

Minister Väyrynen will meet with leaders of the Republic of Karelia and the City of Sortavala, he will inaugurate the new premises of the Petrozavodsk office of the Consulate General of Finland based in St. Petersburg and he will visit companies.
